Project Background: Creating Value for Workers in the Backland of the 'World Factory'
Bangladesh, located in the Ganges Delta of South Asia, has a typical tropical monsoon climate with high temperatures and humidity throughout the year. The average temperature during the long summer often hovers above 30 ℃. As the world's second-largest clothing exporting country, the garment industry is a pillar industry of its national economy. The population density here is extremely high, with abundant labor resources, and it is known as a rising star in the "world factory".
With the deepening of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, China Bangladesh economic and trade cooperation has become increasingly close. A large amount of mature Chinese garment manufacturing techniques and management experience have been introduced into the local area, greatly improving production efficiency. However, advanced production processes impose strict requirements on the production environment - high temperatures not only affect the stability of precision sewing equipment, but also lead to physical exhaustion and decreased attention of workers, thereby affecting the yield of finished garments. How to create a healthy and comfortable working environment for the intensive labor force has become the key to the transformation and upgrading of local enterprises.
It is in this context that Chorka Texile Ltd, a large garment enterprise in Bangladesh, has found Ruifeng Environmental Refrigeration, which has been deeply involved in the field of ventilation and cooling for many years.
On site Challenge: Diverse Factory Structures Test Comprehensive Design Ability
Joka Textile is located in Madaripur County, and its factory mainly consists of two parts with different styles, which poses a huge challenge to the design of ventilation and cooling schemes:
1. New factory building (four story concrete structure): Good lighting, but varying floor heights. The first floor is about 7 meters high and the space is spacious; 2、 The third and fourth floors are only about 4 meters high, relatively low. Concrete structures have slow thermal conductivity, but heat is prone to accumulate.
2. Old factory building (four color steel tile bungalows): It has a parallel and continuous structure, with a single story height of 8 meters, which is a typical high-rise space. Color steel tiles absorb heat quickly, and under direct sunlight, the interior feels like a steamer, with a strong sense of stuffiness.
Ruifeng Plan: Adapt to local conditions, combine attacks, and solve the problem of cooling
Faced with such a large span of multiple building forms, the Ruifeng design team went deep into the front line and comprehensively analyzed the high temperature climate in Bangladesh, the building structures of different factories, the production process requirements of garment workshops (such as dust prevention, odor control, and keeping fabrics dry), and customers' considerations of energy consumption and cost. Finally, they abandoned the "one size fits all" single solution and innovatively adopted a combined cooling strategy of "evaporative air cooler" and "negative pressure fan+water curtain wall".
It is worth mentioning that during the initial planning stage, the client also had expectations for industrial air conditioning. But we are well aware that as a developing country, Bangladesh has tight power supply and relatively weak industrial foundation. If traditional temperature and humidity control industrial air conditioners are used, not only will the initial equipment procurement cost be high, but the huge electricity and maintenance costs in the later stage will also become a heavy burden for enterprises.
Based on the principle of "solving practical problems for customers, rather than simply promoting equipment", we have decisively abandoned the "high-end" but not "down-to-earth" solution and instead focused on local economic conditions, choosing a combination of wind turbine products with low investment costs and extremely low operating expenses. We firmly believe that with scientific fluid mechanics design and precise airflow organization, it is possible to use "ingenuity" to compensate for the functional limitations of individual equipment and create the same comfortable production environment for workers.
【 Plan 1: For tall spaces - high-power evaporative air cooler+long duct airflow organization
We have deployed Ruifeng high-power stainless steel evaporative air coolers on the first floor of the new and old factories with huge capacity.
1. Core principle: Utilizing the natural physical phenomenon of "water evaporation absorbing heat". When fresh outdoor air passes through a moist evaporative curtain, the water film absorbs heat from the air and rapidly evaporates, thereby reducing the temperature of the air itself. This fresh air that has been "filtered" and cooled down is accurately and evenly delivered to every workstation in the workshop through our carefully designed long air duct system.
2. Advantages reflected:
Significant cooling: Compared to traditional air conditioning, the investment and operating costs are extremely low; Compared to ordinary fans, it can bring strong cold air with a temperature drop of 4-10 ℃.
Fresh air: The equipment is installed on the outside of the wall or roof, introducing a continuous stream of fresh air into the room while maintaining positive pressure and removing dust, solving the pain points of poor ventilation and air pollution in tall spaces.
Not occupying space: There are only air supply ducts indoors, avoiding interference from large equipment on the production layout.
[Option 2: For low rise floors - negative pressure fan+water curtain wall negative pressure cooling]
We have adopted the golden combination of "negative pressure ventilation" on the second, third, and fourth floors of the new factory building with a floor height of only 4 meters.
1. Core principle: Install a negative pressure fan on one side of the factory wall to quickly extract hot air, dust, and odors from the room, creating an instantaneous negative pressure zone. Under the pressure difference in physics, outdoor air is automatically "sucked" towards the water curtain wall installed on the other side of the factory building. When the air passes through the moist water curtain, it is also cooled and filtered, and then spreads through the entire workshop in a gentle breeze.
2. Improvement effect:
Comfortable sensation: This "through the air" cooling method not only provides a suitable temperature, but also brings a comfortable airflow, greatly relieving workers' depression and stuffiness in low spaces, effectively reducing the risk of heatstroke, and enhancing work enthusiasm.
Quality assurance: Rapid airflow exchange eliminates sewing thread ends, dust, and human sweat odor, providing a clean and dry environment for fine garment manufacturing processes, directly improving the quality of fabric processing and the yield rate of finished garments.
